Until this
version of VNCScan, it was next to impossible to find a tool to
remotely turn on the Windows XP remote desktop or Windows 2000/2003
Terminal Services. If there was a tool, it certainly wasn't as
easy as this! Check it out...
How It's Done
Select a compatible
computer from the list in a VNCScan group and choose to edit the
properties.
Select the Terminal Services tab
Click the button
to enable the terminal services
Test it out by trying to connect
Troubleshooting
Status Says Something Went Wrong
- This can happen if the terminal services didn't respond to a ping
at the end of the process. It doesn't mean that it all failed,
it just means that you may have to reboot the remote computer before
Terminal Services are available to you.
Port 445 is not accessible -
This happens if there is a firewall between you and the remote
computer. It also happens if the remote computer is not a
Windows 2000 or greater computer.
Any other error .... Try
rebooting the remote computer after the process has been completed
if you didn't get immediate results. Microsoft is really not
very consistent on this. Perhaps because this was never
supposed to really be possible? In most cases, a reboot
completed the processes for me when VNCScan hit a roadblock at the
end.
