Overview
Scan groups can clutter real
fast when you have a bunch of computers on a single scan range.
For this reason, you are able to filter the computers that are
returned in a scan group. There are currently two levels for
this but there is much more on the way.
IP Address during scan
You can prevent a range of or
specific IP addresses from being detected all together by adding
them to the filter list for the scan group. There are two ways
to do this.
The first is to right-click the
scan group and choose to edit the filter. (see below)

The other is to right-click a
computer and add it to the list

The next time that you scan this group, the IP
addresses in this list will be skipped.
Filter by keyword in the list
You can also filter out a list
of keywords or partial words when clicking on a scan group.
You can do this by right-clicking the group name and editing the
group properties. In there, you will see a tab for Filtering.
This is a comma
separated list of values that you can use to filter. There is
no need to add a wild card such as * because it is already assumed.
For example, if you filter for "com", the list will return a
computer named "computer1" or "ecomputer" but not a computer named
"Server". Keep in mind that this is an inclusion list and not
an exclusion list except that any computer not matching the filter
is excluded from the list.
I think that I just made that more
confusing than it needs to be but I hope that you get the idea.
